Cheddar Cheese Bread

I love bread and cheese so tonight I decided to make a yummy cheddar cheese bread to go with dinner.  This is a super simple recipe that my family loves.  Sometimes I put some garlic and parsley in it or even some old bay seasoning.  You can pretty much add whatever herbs or spices that you want or keep it as is.  Whatever you decide I am sure you will love it!  Cheese and bread...YUM!

Cheddar Cheese Bread
3 cups flour
1 TBS baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1-1/4 cups milk
3/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 egg, lightly beaten

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a loaf pan
  • In a large bowl whisk together, flour, baking powder, salt, and peppers
  • Stir in cheese and set aside
  • In a small bowl whisk together remaining ingredients
  • Fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients **** Just combine, do not over mix!  The dough will be wet like drop biscuits made with bisquik ****
  • Pour dough into loaf pan and spread evenly
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, cool for 10 minutes, remove from pan, and cool for 1 hour before slicing and serving
I told you this was easy!  You definitely have to give it a try.  Super easy and yummy!  Enjoy :)
